5 Health Tips

Today we'd like to share five more easy health tips you can put to work in your life, no matter how busy you are.

  1. Try combining foods.  Do not add raisins and figs with meats.  Food combining doesn't work well for everyone but for those it does work for the results are quick and significant.
  2. Avoid fried foods. Yes, I'm sorry, NO Kentucky Fried Chicken, French Fries or anything else that comes out of a vat of boiling oil.
  3. Drink the purest water you can. If your local water company is dumping chlorine, fluoride, and God only knows what else into the water for "Your Protection", you must purchase a good water filter.
  4. Do not eat late at night. Even better, don't eat anything at all once you push yourself away from the table after your evening meal.
  5. Take a good brisk walk every day. While you're moving those old legs of yours and swinging your arms, be sure to take plenty of deep breaths. Morning walks are the best for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that you'll probably be too busy at the end of the day.

around the world. The colour red is associated with strong emotions
and below are listed sentiments expressed by different hues of rose:

Lavender -- Enchantment and Uniqueness
Orange-- Fascination
Pink (Dark) – Thankfulness, Friendship and Admiration
Red – Love, Respect and Courage
Peach - Modesty, Gratitude, Admiration and Sympathy

Deep Red – Beauty and Passion
White -Innocence, Purity, Secrecy, Silence, Reverence, Humility
and (according to some sources) True Love
Yellow - Joy, Friendship, Jealousy, Hope and Freedom
Black –Farewell
Red/White - Unity or Engagement
Yellow/ Orange- Passionate Thoughts
Peach - Modesty, Gratitude, Admiration and Sympathy
Yellow/Red – Congratulations
Rosebud– Beauty, Youth and a Heart Innocent of Love
Red Rose – Purity and Loveliness
White Rosebud – Girlhood
One Dozen Red Roses – I Love you''

No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.  - Amelia Earhart

Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.  - Barbara de Angelis

PUTTING YOURSELF OUT THERE - Tina Mundy

Based in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, PCC Inc. is hosting a series of lectures entitled PUTTING YOURSELF OUT THERE.  These lectures are aimed at preparing individuals for the work place.  Summerside City Counselor Tina Mundy was a recent lecturer.

Guest Lecturer – Summerside City Counselor Tina Mundy

Married at a young age, Tina had decided to be a “Stay at home Mom” while her kids were young but planned once they were in school that she would enter the workforce. Not having been able to afford secondary education after her graduation from High School, Tina knew that in order to prepare herself for a career in today's workforce, she would have to be industrious and creative about finding ways to educate and train herself.

So when her kids were all in school she started in earnest her “Enter the Workforce” plan by getting out into the community and gaining hands-on experience volunteering. She started out by being the Hot Dog Lady at her children's school, then volunteered with the College of Piping, helping them with planning, organizing events and fundraising, and costume designed and sewed costumes for a major production. But she didn't stop there -- many organizations benefited from this eager person's desire to help make a difference for the organization and its goals and for it to benefit her in her desire to learn.  Tina trusted that her bright spirit, intelligence, forthright personality and her “Let's get it done” attitude would pave the way. So she jumped in with both feet and was volunteering and learning everything she could the whole while. A real sponge!

And learn she did and make a name for herself she did and is now a Counselor with the City of Summerside. Way to Put Yourself Out There Tina Mundy! And thank you for sharing your journey with us.

EOV Reporter Joni Miner

The next lecture in this series will be held on July 11, 2011 at PCC Inc., 420 Read Drive.  The guest lecturer will be Summerside Mayor Basil Stewart.
